Classic inspiration. A new delivery.

Inspired by the classic 10th Frame, Next Frame Bowling brings the rhythm of approach, release and spin to a new experience with its own graphics, sound and physics. Find the pocket, pick up a tricky spare and watch the animated pinsetter prepare the lane for your next shot.

A little colour. A lot of character.

About the game

A powerful shot is only part of the story. Find the pocket, pick up a tricky spare and learn how small adjustments change the path of the ball. Watch the pins collide and fall, then let the animated pinsetter clear the lane for your next delivery.

The game includes
  • Solo Play, Training and local Match Play for up to four players.
  • Ten-pin scoring with strikes, spares and earned extra deliveries in the final frame.
  • Individual player names, shirt and ball colours, and Novice or Pro settings.
  • Adjustable position and aim, with separate timing for speed and hook.
  • Ball and pin physics, pin-to-pin collisions and late falls.
  • Animated bowlers, rolling balls and an automatic pinsetter.
  • Training Retry and a previous-shot trace to help compare deliveries.
  • Ranked match results and a New Game option that keeps your player settings.
  • Keyboard and joystick controls, plus an in-game pause menu.
  • Original 70s-inspired pixel art, AY menu music and bowling sound effects.
Master Your Delivery

Choose your starting position and aim. Hold Space or joystick fire to begin your approach, release to set the speed, then press again to set the hook. The timing of each action shapes your shot, from a straight delivery to a curve into the pins.

Solo Play And Match Play

Work towards a better score in a full ten-frame solo game, or share the lane with up to four local players. Each player finishes a frame before the next takes over. Strikes and spares earn bonus points, and the final frame includes the extra deliveries you earn. Review the ranked results, then start a new game with your player settings retained.

Make Each Player Your Own

Choose a name, shirt colour and ball colour, with individual Novice or Pro settings. Play a relaxed match or test your timing with a more demanding delivery.

Practise Your Spares

Training lets you practise on a full rack or selected spare combinations, including single corner pins and the 7–10 split. Press R to retry the previous delivery and T to show or hide its ball path so you can compare your shots.

Built For ZX Spectrum Next

Warm wooden lanes, dark blue surroundings and colourful pixel graphics give the game its 70s character. A disco-flavoured AY soundtrack accompanies the menus, while gameplay has its own landing, rolling, pin-impact and pinsetter sounds.

Controls

Q/A selects a menu item or the position/aim control; O/P changes the selected value. Space or joystick fire confirms and controls the delivery. Enter confirms menu choices and saves an edited name. Escape goes back in menus or opens the pause menu during play.
